Shokudo Ruins | Loved by Locals in Kyoto

Western food

This restaurant is located in a renovated machiya (townhouse), a 5-minute walk from the Shijo-Kawaramachi intersection. The chef of this restaurant had experienced French cuisine at a Michelin-starred restaurant. The atmosphere of the restaurant is casual and reasonably priced, despite the authentic French cuisine.

The recommended dish is a three-plate course. Soup, fish and meat dishes are served with bread for the amazing price of 3,500 yen. In particular, the vegetables used in this restaurant are shipped directly from Kameoka City, next to Kyoto City, so you can enjoy fresh vegetables.

Alcoholic beverages include not only wine, but also Japanese sake and shochu. It is popular among Japanese who want to enjoy French cuisine in a casual manner without being overbearing.
