京都市で開催されている「市民大茶会」は、多くの人々に茶道の魅力に触れてもらうことを目的とした、年に一度の特別なイベントです。本格的な茶道を体験できる貴重な機会として、毎年多くの市民や観光客が参加しています。
この茶会の一番の特徴は、裏千家、表千家、藪内家、武者小路千家の4流派の茶道家元による本格的な茶道が楽しめることです。流派の名称は聞いたことがあるけど、その違いがよく分からない。藪内家って初めて聞いのでどんな流派なのか知りたい。そんな疑問を持っている方におすすめできるイベントです。
開催される場所は二条城にある清流園。このイベントに参加される方は特別に清流園に入場することもできます。開催されるのは10月下旬から11月上旬にかけて。タイミングが合えば、紅葉が楽しめるかもしれません。

The 70th Citizens’ Grand Tea Ceremony (2024)
The “Citizens’ Grand Tea Ceremony” held in Kyoto City is a special annual event that aims to expose many people to the charms of the tea ceremony. Many citizens and tourists participate in this event every year as a rare opportunity to experience an authentic tea ceremony.
The most unique feature of this tea ceremony is that you can enjoy an authentic tea ceremony performed by the tea ceremony iemoto of the four tea ceremony schools: Urasenke, Omotesenke, Yabunaike, and Mushanokoji Senke.
The event will be held in Seiryuen, located in Nijo Castle. Those who participate in this event are also allowed to enter Seiryuen as a special guest. The event will be held from late October to early November. If the timing is right, you may be able to enjoy the autumn leaves.
Starting this year, advance reservations can be made online.
