TAVERN Gaucho | Loved by Locals in Kyoto

Tavern

Founded in 1955, it is a rare bar in Kyoto’s Kiyamachi neighborhood, where three generations of parents and children have been in business. Originally a classic bar with many regular customers lined up with bottles of whiskey, it has been transformed into a more casual bar than before, partly because the owner, who took over the bar, was originally a Japanese sake lover.

The restaurant’s cuisine is mainly teppanyaki. There are many variations in flavor to match any type of alcohol, and if you let the staff know what you like, they will provide you with just the right dish.

The location of the restaurant is very confusing, so call if you get lost (phone number: 075-255-2953).
